Default Windows Leaking Help!

On my 98 Trans Am I can't go wash my car because it leaks really bad all the way around the whole window on both sides. Do I know to replace the rubber all along my windows or what?

Is it the seal that has failed or did the window mechanism sag and not let the window go all the way up?

Well I've had the window motors replaced recently and I'm not happy with them cuz they are still slow but it also leaked before I had the new window motors.

I'm talking about the frame that the motor and regulator attaches. Look at the forward edge of the window. Is it up all the way flush with the plastic triangle at the front of the door or is it slightly below that? Also, with the door panel removed, look at the mounting points for the window motor/regulator frame. See if the holes are slotted.

It is flush with the triangle. So does that mean I should look into the window seals? I'm hesitant towards the rubber around the window because it is very very super expensive from what I've seen!

Then it may be the weather seal or the position of the T-Tops. Can you post pics? Its also possible that the rear of the window sagged. I'm just trying to eliminate having to replace the weather seal unless that is really the problem.

I appreciate your input but I don't think you would be able to tell anything from pics. When I wash it though...water is all over the inside of the window and it drips on to the seat quite a bit. It doesn't leak anywhere around the t-top except for where it's connected to the window.

i took rubber silicone and coated a solid layer all the way down the lip of the weather stripping where the window contacts the weather strip. the rubber silicone flexes around the window and keeps it from leaking and also reduces wind noise when driving.... saved me a ton of money but make sure you dont roll the window all the way up so it doesnt dry to the window! hope this helps!!!

Do you have any pictures of where you put the silicone? Do you mean just leave the window down while it dries?

VERY interested in seeing this...

Cause I too have this leak problem!

I've also heard of specific sprays to use to make the worn seal puffy and make it come back up again? I'm sure I've booked marked it here somewhere...

All I know is that it's too expensive at a brand new price
