Well I have 5% on the back and 20% on the sides with metallic black tint. It is pretty dark during the day and night. But with a little light source, it is possible to see in through the 20% at night though. I would say go maybe 5% all around if you can pull it off, and live with the low visibility until you get used to it. But overall I am happy with my tint percent, it is a good trade off between the 2 different shades.

Also, on the t tops. I have heard you can tint them darker. I have heard a couple different things though. I have heard that if you tint them darker, the darker tint will absorb more heat than usual on a hot day and shatter them. And I have also heard of people doing it and being fine with no problems. Either way, its up to you. I personally don't want to take the chance, so I just stuck with the stock tint on the t tops. I have a 3rd gen formula with cracked t tops and it is not fun at all. So whatever you decide it up to you. You might be fine with the tinted t tops, maybe somebody will chime in with some experience with them. But I hope this helps you out!

I think the cops(state troppers) down here have a measuring device that they can use on your windows to tell if your legal or not. If thats the case find a friendly cop and ask.

I have 5% (limo) tint on my t-tops, 20% on the hatch, and it's hard to see inside the car but it's not hard to see through it at night, 50% (Louisiana legal) on the sides, and a 10% strip on the top of the windshield. I just got them done about a month ago and it seems to make a difference. It's gotten up to 80 degrees and I can touch my MBA shifter for more than a second without it branding me.

The factory t-tops are about 15%. I've tinted them before, and there aren't any issues with it. The t-tops are polycarbonate, so I seriously doubt there will be any problems with heat. I prefer to just use the sunshades in mine, and take the shades out when I want to let the sun in. Just my preference though

I have 5% all way around, and have a sheet of 5 on my t-tops. I like it. I think the factory tint on the t-tops is 15%. I have a medical waiver too. Hope this helps.

I would just put the T-Top shades in, that will be as dark as you can make them then, But I have 5% on back and 5% on the side windows and 35% on the WHOLE front windshield, you can see in on a REALLY bright sunny day, but just barely.

How were you able to tint your front windshield? Is that legal where you are?

I dont think tinting your whole front windshield is legal anywhere. I doubt anyone would even notice unless I pointed it out, 35% is barely anything. You just have to "know" people I guess. I kinda wish I would have gone a little bit darker on the front windshield, but maybe on my next car

There is a guy on this board that has 20% on his whole front windshield.

I have 5% in the back and 35% on the sides... at night you can see in under those bright white streetlights. We proved this after staring at a chick... then realizing she could see us as she giggled and drove off. lol

I couldn't drive at night with it darker than 20%, and the 35% is fine for me for what I want.

I have 15% tint on my sides and back. It matches the t-tops perfectly, I'd say. So I guess the t-tops are at least 15%.

Here in Maryland, it's illegal to tint the front windshield. Though I'm soooo tempted to just get it done anyway. Maybe get 45% or something. I don't want the front windshield too dark anyway; the 15% on the sides is kind of a bitch to see through at night.
