Removed all the tape and paper tonight. Put tank back in and hooked back up. Got new transmission crossmember installed. Next will be to polish exhaust back up and touch up the heat shields and install. Would like to get fab 9 installed this weekend.

Looks awesome! I have the drivetrain out of mine and have asked a couple of people about painting my undercarriage and always get a stupid look.

Where are your jack stands supporting the car while you painted? Any advice you could give for someone else planning to do this? Brand of paint?

I have two jack stands under the k member up front, two more resting on the bolt at the lower control arm locations, and the final two at the very rear where the exhaust hangers are just for additional safety.

Find a smaller body shop, one that does more custom work and might have a rotisserie. They have usually been on their back before with a sprayer. My guy has only done one more like mine, but with times slow, he had no problem jumping right on it.

Looks killer Brian. That GMMG exhaust does look great with that painted under carriage. Keep up the good work.

Wow. Just, wow. I've stripped everything from under my car as well, so I can appreciate how much time that took you. And that shiny exhaust against the red is just dead sexy.

My daughter, who helped me with all the mods, helped me get the rear in position. The wife helped some to. Depending on work tomorrow, hope to bolt it in.
The helm joints on the tq arm have me puzzled. I may have to call MWC and ask a few questions. In order to bolt it up I had to unscrew both joints almost all the way out. You can see in one of the pictures how far it's out.

In the mean time, I installed the front coil overs and test fitted a wheel, which need some inner fender massaging to clear. No surprise there. Also need to drop the coil over down to get the body closer to the tire.

I don't really understand the draw to have the underbody body color, seems like it should be black, like tires... They're supposed to be black, as to not draw attention to the bottom of the car... Then you use light colors on your suspension and drive train to increase contrast.
Looks like you did it right, I just dont understand it..

I re-did my underbody in rubberized undercoating to protection it from salt in the winter, help with NVH, and increase contrast to the other stuff down there.
