Default Another CETA mod.**plastidip**

sorry for the cell phone pics. i washed and dried before i started.didnt need to claybar or polish since the bumper is new.

before the process.

im not a pro painter so my masking looks crappy. but my masking tape line is great. this is the first coat.

done. 4 coats.

once i started pealing off the tape i realized the plastidip doesnt just stay on and separate from the tape easily. so i got a razor and had to cut at the tape line so all my hard work didnt peal off with the tape. only messed it up at my first peal. not to bad

i love how it turned out

Going to do this as soon as I get a nice, warm weekend day. How many cans did you go through?

a little tip when using plastidip... As soon as you are done spraying it, peel off your masking tape. If you peel it while the p'dip is still wet, it will not peel up like the OP had happen.

BTW OP, love the CETA mod on a red TA!

yeah i decided to lay it on light and wait the 30 min between coats. maybe i shouldnt have read the directions on the can. i was afraid it would run so i didnt want to lay it on heavy. maybe ill do it differently if i do my sail panel.

Why wouldn't you use paint... You know it's gonna look great, no when you decide you like it, you get to prep and tape all over again.

true. but its a new bumper and im not a very good painter. i wouldnt doubt i would mess it up. plastidip was really easy to do. no sanding or primer were necessary or clear, but i heard it fades over time and looks gray if you dont clear. but being so easy to do i wouldnt mind doing it again.

Im assuming the clear makes shiney, or does it still have the matte finish either way?
