Default shift boot

The car: red SS, interior is black leather with red inserts, and a red bowtie in the headrest.

Is a red leather shift boot a nice addition or incredibly tacky???

Yeah, I'm gonna second the incredibly tacky response. Don't do it.

I dont see that. It sounds like it would match the interior and the body color. I'd do it.

i'd have to see the interior, it really depends on what the interior looks like. If you do it tastefully obviously it wouldn't be tacky.. lets get some pics please!

The interior won't be put in for a few weeks. I'll post some then. FWIW, I ordered a black shift boot.

Here is a pic of my interior, I have it done and I dont think its tacky. Those are red inserts, they look orange because it was night time and i had the flash on.

Are those aftermarket seat covers? If not, what are they?

that two tone looks badass! I'd like to see ebony with a lighter grey inside to match my silver car.

No they arent aftermarket seat covers. The front seats were totaly re-done, The guy ordered new GM grey leather. He added more cushion so they wont wear as bad on the edges. People think that the GM leather is **** because of the way it wears, but thats not the case, its the crap cushion underneath that causes it. He was able to re-use the grey leather in the back because no one ever sat there before so the leather was in good condition. The red inserts are close to torch red. I had him use the same leather to make the shift boot and do the door panels.

Good deal. I am looking to re-cover my front seats because of wear from the previous owner. I would buy the covers from GM, but they are not cheap in the slightest. I just want ebony though. Your seats look very nice though.

your interior looks very nice. The red shift boot looks good too, adds a nice touch to get the center counsel to really accent the rest of it.
