Shift knob / adapter question

Shift **** / adapter question I bought one of the adapters from WS6STORE so I could change my factory shifter on my 93 z28 (automatic) to a nicer one. They said all the ***** they carried would fit right on the adapter, but the B&M handle I bought won't fit. The threads on the adapter are very large, and the B&M has pretty small threads. None of the little adapters, nuts, threaded pieces are big enough to step down the size of the adapter to make it work.
I'm wondering how I'm supposed to get this on here? Short of drilling and tapping a larger hole in the handle, is there anything I could get at the hardware store to get this to fit? I'm wondering if there might be some type of thread adapter out there I could use...
What am I supposed to do? I'm using a B&M T-handle, basically the standard shape everyone uses and the same thing you would find on a ratchet shifter or quarter stick. I guess the ball shifters would fit, but these don't?
