Default Quick questions about painting coils

I have some free time this week and I'm gunna try painting my coils. I was just wondering how I should clean them and what type of paint should I use. Can I just use some water/degreaser or brake cleaner and should I use high temp paint or regular paint?
Thanks.

I take it youre talking about ignition coils right? Not to much to do with them. I cleaned them with soapy water and a rag. Make sure to go over them again with a damp rag to get all the soap residue off. I taped off where the wire goes over them and over top of the connector with painters tape then hit them with caliper spray paint. The paint leaves a gorgeous smooth finish and it wont be bothered by or anything. Hope this helps. Btw its a good time to paint your caliper brackets and hide wiring too.

Thanks, I'll make sure I tape off the openings. I was also thinking about wrapping the wiring in black electrical tape to clean it up a little bit. My brackets are already painted black because they are brand new with all stainless hardware. My valve covers are red so I'm hoping painting the coils makes everything look good.

Will do! Might do the wire mod while I'm at it...try to clean it all up a little bit more.
