Default Pimped out engine bays and daily driven...

Can these two go hand in hand? Or is the up keep not worth the hassle?

I think during the midwestern winters it would be tough. Also it depends on what has been done. Speaking from a polished point of view it would be a challenge, paint and powder coated would be fine.

maybe it's just that South Texas is too close to Mexico, but everytime that I try to clean up under my hood, it's dusty as heck.

Well you can include Georgia in there also. I was thinking about pimping out my engine bay, but everytime I pop the hood, I get discouraged... so dusty.

Mine is driven every day here in Seattle where it takes a real beating from Nov-Mar because of rain and horrible roads. Hard to keep clean but I do it every weekend rain or shine. Once you let it get away from you you'll never get it back to what it was. Same with the under carriage. Pics are in the link below.

As long as you maintain it once a week/every other week, it gets
easier and easier. I started out with a horribly dirty engine bay,
now it's mostly clean, and I don't have to work as hard to get it
clean. Of course, I still have a long way to go, but regular cleaning
makes it easier. This is my daily driver/only car, so it sees rain/snow/
salt/sand in winter, everything.

as everyone has said before, if you clean it once/twice a week, driving it everyday is nothing. check out my webiste for my photo...http://members.aol.com/camaro35thss1757/index.htm

when my car was still a daily driver in college..well i parked it for winter and just didn't have a car or took my sister's since she couldn't have hers at school...anyway, I just stayed on it..spent maybe 15 minutes every week when I cleaned the car and it always was just fine, looked great. If i skipped a week for any reason it was noticable from the crap that gets in there from driving every day.

My old bay wasnt that big a deal.. if you keep on it then it never gets that bad, even on a daily driven car. Driving in lots of snow and rain might be more of a challenge though..
