Default Wax/polish suggestions

I currently use Zaino, but I'm always willing to try other stuff. I also want to get a decent buffer....for some reason the paint on the bottom half of my driver's side door seems to be the dullest part of the car...
How much is a good entry/intermediate level buffer? I currently use 3M swirl mark remover (#39009). Should I keep using this stuff? For some reason it seems like the Zaino doesn't last very long on my car because of the Florida water....oh well.

I and many other people have been having excellent results with the color x/ NXT wax combo. They are both really easy to apply/remove and are both made by Meguire's.

Wal Mart sells buffers for about 20-30 bucks. Go check them out when you get a chance.

I have had excellent results with the Color X/NXT combination. It is very easy to apply and take off. Give it a try.

Don't waste your money on Wal-Mart buffers. Just do it once and do it right and buy a Porter Cable with the accessories.

3M is alright, but not my favorite. You should check out Menzerna Intensive Polish and Menzerna Final Polish. They work VERY well.

If you want something new check out Wolfgang. www.wolfgangcarcare.com

You might also check out www.autopia.org for any detailing related information.

I second the Porter Cable. I don't know how the hell I managed to wax all these years without one.
Save yourself some money. Go to Lowes and buy the 7336. It's the same EXACT tool as the 7424, (which Porter Cable lists as a buffer only). Don't worry that the box says Random Orbital Sander. SuperBuick, and Steve1969LS1 turned me on to this little secret. The box contains one buffing wheel, but just use that for practice, or on your beater/Daily Driver. Pick up a set of quality buffing wheels. I don't know about the place that Zaneo talked about, but Properautocare.com has a kit of all the correct buffing wheels for the Porter Cable.

properautocare.com and autopia.com are THE sites to refer to when trying to figure out how to clean ANY place of your car; interior, exterior, engine, wheels and wheel wells, undercarriage, grilles, exhaust tips, windows, it is amazing the stuff they come up with and the pruducts they use!

I'll second what these guys said - properautocare and autopia - great places to start doing some reading up. Be careful of Autopia though - it can become addicting and suck up ALOT of time

hey quick note on 3M - good for scratches but I wouldn't use on the whole car - too much abrasive in it !!!

Wolfgang can only be found on their website and www.autogeek.net - it's proprietary.
