making a custom console lid
making a custom console lid since the factory plastic/vinyl console lids are hot garbage, i'm thinking about making one from wood and lining it with pleather.
here's the general idea:
1. shape it from a piece of a 2x6 or something.
2. use original hinge.
3. i'm not sure what it's called where there's no manual latch... just a curved prong that presses against the inside lip to hold it shut until you pull it open.
4. cover it with some black vinyl i have lying around. this way it will look better and never shrink.
