Default Need Some Dash Wrapping (Air Bag Section) Help

So I know that there has been some guys on here that have wrapped the dash. I have used the search but can't seem to find the threads i'm looking for.

My question is what did you do with the passenger air bag section? Since the dash has break away plastic when the air bag goes off, there is no way to wrap that piece as far as I can tell.

I am hoping I missed something and one of you guys can answer or point me in the right direction.

I am open for ideas of how to wrap that section of the dash because i'm all out of ideas.

Thanks guys

I haven't even looked at it, but could you cut the breakaway plastic spots to basically remove the air bag cover, wrap the dash and cover separately, then use some kind of adhesive dotted around the seam to hold the cover down again? Nothing too strong so it can still pop if necessary.

Just musing.

That's kind of what I was thinking of doing but I'm almost positive there would be no way to glue it down.

Vikingramair is the guy you wanna look up. He wrapped his dash while it was in the car and wrapped the cover as well. Just search posts started by him in this section, youll come acrossed it.

I found that if you heat the air bag section and use a screwdriver you can pry the foam dash piece from the plastic.

I'm interested to see how people deal with that area of the dash as I myself would love to do a custom color change down the road, but not sure of the passenger air bag myself. Problem is you open yourself up to a LOT of liability altering an air bag cover. Almost to the point I'd rather just remove as you're not sure how you're going to change the opening of that or worse whatever you cover it with could become small projectiles.
