Question for the LED pros

Question for the LED pros I want to swap the newer LED taillights onto my CLS . While they will bolt into the car no problem and plug up, they throw error codes and don't light up correctly. Is the solution as easy as putting some 6 ohm 50 watt resistors in the hot wires?
There's a guy that sells a plug n play box for the swap, but..
1. He's in Europe and won't sell them unless he gets 10 orders first
2. Wants almost $300 plus shipping for them (4 resistors and a heat sink IIRC)
3. He doesn't like Americans because somebody screwed him on a set of these gold and diamond gems via Paypal , so you have to kiss his *** and convince him to sell them to you.
