Default plasti-dip t-tops

OK, I have read a million plastic dip threads, and quite honestly, I see not many examples of things I wud use it for. But here's my question, I tinted my t-top glass with static tint, still not dark enuf, can I use plastic dip on them? On the inside, instead of multiple layers of tint to black them out and not have to put the factory shades in/out all the time...

remove the static cling tint and spray it right onto the glass, it is totally doable just takes many coats to get things even, I tried spraying the outside but I wasn't happy with how it went down (it was probably to hot or sunny that day) so I peeled it back off but plasti-dip holds fine to glass so go for it.

I've been running painted t-tops for years (the inside is painted black). I too wanted them to be blacked-out without using the shades, so I went a different route... plasti dip will be fine up there and easier to remove. It was a bit of a hassle to remove the paint from my camaro's tops when I sold it, but very doable, they looked new when I was done.

Only thing I'd check to see is if it lets off any odors in the heat, wouldn't want to deal with that. And as mentioned above, remove the static cling stuff first.

definitely better to do the inside instead of the outside. having them plastidipped on the exterior makes makes the car look bad. doing the inside you just get really rich looking black windows from the outside, and still maintain the factory look.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I ran the static cling for a while, that was after trying the plasti dip on the outside and what you say is exactly why I ditched the idea, I ended up just getting the t-tops professionally tinted (would do it myself but don't have a heat gun yet) I went with like 15-20% because I still wanted to be able to look up and see the stars on a clear night.

The issue I had with the static cling, because I didn't trim it around the edges of the clear glass it got all heat deformed around the weatherstripping, but it was a temp thing to begin with. I got the A/C working for now, finally.

Thanks for replies, yes I was planning to remove the cling tint first, and tint the inside using plastic dip stuff. Sounds like its a good option since u guys say will stick well to glass. I'll be getting on it soon, will put up pics,
