what do you recommend?
i have used 3m swirl remover (for dark colors) with liquid glass (the 1 in a can
with the red vette) looks good. not great. you may want to try a rubbing compound
to start with(all the different products won't help your funds, but it will yield better
results..and quicker too!)

If you want to do it by hand (the right way) tuffluck, get some Meguiars Dual-Action Cleaner/Polish and then talk to Scottwax over at autopia. He does most of his swirl removing by hand using thie product. It is very time and physically consuming as I understand it but it can be done.

Another product that is supposed to work pretty well by hand is Vanilla Moose made by ClearKote. DACP and VM combo would probably work pretty well.

Yeah - Scott is just badass - he does it that way I guess just because he can? Nonetheless he does some awesome work.
Zane - I completely forgot about the ClearKote stuff - good reccomendation. I believe Scott uses that as well.
Bottom Line Tuffluck - it is alot more work and technique, but it can be done (at least partially)
