cleaning motor

I am in the process of buying a junk yard ls6. My question is what is the best way to clean the aluminum parts to make them look as new as possible.

Purple power and a scrub brush, then hose it off

Use any aluminum safe degreaser and a scrub brush, DO NOT acid or hot tank them it will eat away the aluminum.
