Default SS emblems removal

who has replaced there SS emblems on the fenders and berger panel? my car is black with the red SS emblems but i was looking to change them to a different color. how hard are they to come off? i think they're glued on. im guessing a heat gun and something soft to pry it off? just wondering if anyone has done this so i can be prepared for what im about to do lol.

they should all be stick on with double sided tape similar to the body moldings I would think, so a little heat maybe and some thread to saw through the tape and after a few minutes and really sore thumbs youll be good to go after you use some windex/goo-gone and a micro fiber towel to polish all the left over material off.

Yea, if they factory then they are held on by double sided tape. I've just used a heat gun and my fingertips to peel them off before, it's pretty easy. After that you'll just need to follow up with some goo-gone and you'll be good to go.

i used a card, any plastic card and wedged it in between, similar idea to a badges remover but make sure its smooth just to be sure it wont scratch the paint under. for the re installing i used 3M double sided tape, works amazing.

Like the posts above, they are held on by a thin layer of adhesive.

- Grab a heat gun/hair dryer and some fishing wire.
- Heat the emblem up just enough to be able to wiggle it around a little.
- Grab your fishing wire and place it between the paint and SS badge and move it back and fourth in a saw like motion until emblem is off.
- Once off, grab some goo-gone and microfiber towel to remove the remaining adhesive on the paint.

In regards to installing new ones... I made a template out of tracing paper and a thin piece of cardboard to make sure they went back to their original spots. Worked perfectly!
