bulb under a4 shifter ?

bulb under a4 shifter ? does anyone know how to replace the bulb under the shifter
i tried to remove it now the bulb is broken and stuck inside the harness
it doesn't appear to have a socket,so i don't know
any help would be great

I thought you just twist and unplug to get it out (Assuming you took shifter area off the center). Its been a while since I took my center console apart so I can't remember how, but I know it does come off.

yeah that light just twists right off give that a try.
you can cut that little holder the bulb sits in so it will still screw in
and then replace the bulb with a LED, its brighter and won't burn out, i ve replaced mine and also the lights over the window and door switches, very easy

i tried twisting it and the bulb broke

the LED isnt a bulb its a diode, and i m pretty sure GM doesnt sell em.
just go to radioshack and ask em, you should get a little LED and a resistor so it wont burn up when connected to 12 volts of power
