need advice for chrome
I like the pewter idea that is what I'm going to do w/ mine as well. My aftermarket wheels are polished alum. But inside barrels don't look too good, so right now they are black primer. They are getting the pewter treatment as soon as the weather gets better around here

i painted the outside face of a set of chrome 15" trailer rims that were all rusted using white duplicolor paint from advance auto. I think i got away with 1 can for $15 to do the face of all 4 rims in white doing 3 coats. I was amazed. this is wheel paint and dries to a very hard finish, i highly recommend. you are doing the inside of your wheels so you got it easy. only thing i would recommend is buy a good strong cleaning degreasing agent and clean them really really well, then use a self-etch primer before using the duplicolor paint. i don't remember if duplicolor has a primer for this paint, but the rustoleum self-etch primer worked fine for me.
