I am rebuilding a 5.3 with a little extra HP and couldnt decide what to do for the valve covers. I decided to use some elbow grease and my buffer to actually make a nice improvement. I really didnt want to use paint. What you guys think for 1.5 hours? A quick comparison of the 2 covers.
Did you only buff them? Not wetsand? If you didn't wetsand, you have to wetsand it to make it smooth and get that mirror shine
Naw i didnt wet sand but my buffing wheel will get a mirror finish with out but the roughness in the upper right hand corner needs to be sanded smooth to get the imperfections out. Beings you cant really see them much i will probably leave it as is and do the other to match. I just wanted to get the real dull stuff off. Wetsanding as well as sanding the imperfections out with some rough stuff first it is possible to make them show quality.
