tail light sequencers A co-worker and I were batting around the idea of making a tail light sequencer. I know that there are products out there already but who doesn't like making something on their own? This is going to be a digital component controlled by micro processor. I'm looking to see if anyone has any ideas for additions...here's where we're at:

*sequence three individual bulbs from inner most to outer most during turn signal operation
*illuminate all three bulbs at once during stop lamp operation w/o sequential turn-on
*retain park lamp operation as per OEM specs
*prioritize park/stop/turn functions

*ability to program sequence time
*eliminate OEM flasher component, control w/micro controller
*LED conversion
*adjustable brightness (smoked lenses v. non)

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I have sequencers in my LS1 T/A, but I am sporting a version that might be old. I once tried leds and these sequencers did not work well with LEDs. Looking forward to your product.
One advantage to what we are going to do is that the OEM flasher should be omitted completely and the function will be written into the code of the processor. That way you have control over speed, timing, bulb type, ect. A plug & play component with programming variables. Customizable. What would everyone like to see in a product for options?????

Certainly will! I personally have one of each, a '97 Camaro and a '96 'bird. The options are simple once the product is completed, just a re-write in the code. My mockup assembly is actually my Camaro taillights for right now. How would you like to see the Camaro lights operate and in which housing?
One thing we are adding is the three signal tap (as I'll call it). Like the newer vehicles that one tap of the turn signal switch results in an auto cancelling three flash sequence.

I have another pie-in-the-sky request: somehow have the ability to use multiple sequencers, in sequence, in case the stock 4 lights per housing aren't enough per side (i.e. custom LED housings with a smooth gradient wipe signal). Just makes it more complex but if you want a fully featured product, that would be a cool addition.
