Default T/A Raptor hood.

What's everyone's opinion on these hoods? I have one came with the car but it's not the same color. Should I have it painted to match my car or buy a ram air hood. I need opinions please?

I would just paint it to match the car. The Raptor hood is a functional ram air hood if you are using their lower air box that is made for that hood. Unless you don't like the looks, you already have a ram air hood on your car.

What the sleak beak said, hoods are expensive as **** IMO so i'd just throw a cheap paint job on the one you got and call it good since its probably a functioning ram air hood. But ya ofcourse I prefer a Ws9/Ws.6 hood, but then again thats a lot of money. now if you could sell your hood to help pay for a new hood then you'd be golden ponyboy.

What lower airbox does your car have? The Raptor hood has an airbox only made for that hood to make a functional ram air setup. Personally I would keep the Raptor hood since not many people have them, and they are a little more agressive that a Firehawk hood. I think a ws6 hood looks like someone glued on aftermarket hood scoops and everyone and their mom has a ws6 hood, no offense, your hood is unique and if you wanted to sell it, it should go quick. Post up some pics

If you don't prefer the way it looks then sell it for one you do like. Or maybe it'll grow on ya if you're not very fond of it at the moment. It's cosmetic appearance, its really just up to your visual preferences.

The raptor hood is a great hood. These guys are correct to a good quality hood for these cars with ram air will run you $600-900 and then paint depending on how picky you are will run you another $500-1000

How much it cost to have painted will really depend on where you live and who you know. I know a guy that now owns his own body shop, I could probably get a hood painted for $300-400 and he does really good work.

Yeah man, that's a Superhawk hood. All you need is a ws6 lower airbox to get the most out of it, or you can still use the regular one if you want. The hood you have there is more aggressive than a Raptor hood.

I have the same hood coming my way in a month or so, minus the heat extractors.

I remember years ago I had a Dodge Spirit get the hood damaged, and to smooth it, prime, seal, metallic paint and clear, it was around $500, not sure what it is now, but I need the hood, front bumper, headlight covers and side mirrors painted. I will cross that road when I get there this summer

I have the raptor hood on mine required a small bit of blocking but otherwise pretty straight from the manufacturer, however getting the gap between the hood and the front bumper has proven to be difficult, I still have a gap I consider unacceptable

Raptor is in between a Firehawk and Superhawk size-wise. Raptor hood is a great hood, and your car is amazing looking. Is that house of kolor Tangeglo? That orange is amazing

The gap that you mention, did shimming that center where the plastic push pin goes help at all? Or did it change the gap too far in either direction?

No it is Orange glow by PPG it's a candy as well, prior to this it was HOK Candy Tangerine. I have about a 1/4 or slightly bigger gap between hood and bumper and it really bothers me, tried to shim but it does change it too much in either direction
