Somebody help me with interior color
Somebody help me with interior color I have a 2000 z28 with what I'm pretty sure is ebony interior. I've checked the color code on the door jamb, but I've read pre 2000 cars had a different ebony color than 2000+ cars. I'm needing the interior piece that goes in the trunk area and covers the spare tire. Just want to make sure I get the right color. Any way to distinguish between the different colors? I've looked at the numbers on the back of the panel and can't really make much sense out of them. If someone has a 01+ car could you check the numbers on your panel? Thanks
Thats odd. Any door bezel ive ever seen has been black. Ive got a pair of 93 door panels and a pair of 99 door panels in my basement and their the exact same as the bezels in my 2000 SS and 2001 SS.

^^^^ This makes sense now. I was beginning to think my interior was pieced together lol. I've been looking for that one piece in the trunk that holds the speakers and when I'm standing there looking at the piece in my car it doesn't look as black as some that I've seen listed for sale. So is there a noticeable difference between 99 ebony vs. 00 ebony? Or if I post some pics could you guys tell the difference so I can be sure what I have? I don't have another car to compare to or even know anyone around here that has one with ebony interior. Only guy I know that has one has tan in his.

Verdad Gallardo I have ebony rear speaker panels in my basement. Im fairly sure I have 97-99 charcoal panels as well. If I have both I will get a side by side pic for ya. The difference between the 2 colors is drastic, the 97-99 color is several shades lighter. They called it dark grey but its more like a medium grey. If you had a 97-00 panel in your car it a car with ebony, it would stick out like a sore thumb.
The differences in the ebony I was referring to are very slight. Like the ratio of dye was varied. In the right sunlight or usually with a camera flash you can see slight miss matches in color between certain panels. In most lighting though its not noticeable.
