Mr clean magic eraser on headlights?

Mr clean magic eraser on headlights? It's like the title says. But is it a bad idea? The car is garage kept and not daily driven. It's just the headlamps are foggy and money isn't tight but they recently clamped down on overtime at my job so I can't validate a professional doing it and I'm not true lay sold on the kits.....

Don't laugh but this works and is real cheap. I work for a Chevrolet dealership been pounding dents for 20yrs we have this kid at work that caught my attention he was using deep woods off bug spray DEET 45 and a rag believe it or not but it took the worst set of yellowed headlights and cleaned them up. I tried it myself and a yr later my beater car still has clear lights
Pick up the new Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Headlight Restoration Kit. It will set you back about $20-$25. I did a review on it and have used it on two cars. The included coating in the kit lasts up to 1 year.
