Default carpet cleaning?

i feel my carpet is a little dirty (daily driver with 72k miles) and i was looking for something to clean it or maybe shampoo it so it would look as clean as it used to be when new.
what do you guys recommend? should i take it to a detailing shop just to shampoo it or is there any product i can use.
thanks in advance

Go to a vacuum store that has the dry floor cleaning system (think steam clean, without the steam). That stuff will work great. If you've got stains, they've got stain remover sprays that work well. Just don't overdo it with the sprays as they have a slight bleaching action so if you pour it on there'll be a lighter mark.

Some previous owner left a brown stain all over the back of my TA and the stain remover worked well. Can't even tell it was ever there.

If you want a budget method that works wonders, try this. Vacuum your carpet thoroughly, spray it with a Woolite and water solution 6:1, brush it with a carpet brush, vacuum, spray with water only, and vacuum a final time.

you would need some kind of gum remover, or you could try freezing it with a piece of Ice then pick at it til it comes out.

Blue Coral upholstery cleaner works wonders! If you can rent a steam cleaner, though, do that! My friend and I used one yesterday, and it worked wonders!
