Default Trans Am Fog Lights

Depo 336-2002N-AS Pontiac Trans Am Driver/Passenger Side Replacement Fog Light Assembly
by Depo

Bought the above for my 2000 Trans Am. They come with the mounting brackets and bulbs and factory electrical connector. They come packaged nicely and have a clear cellophane film on the front to prevent scratches. This film should be removed prior to install. They fit perfect and work perfect. Make sure you buy GM 14103461 bumper cover retainers as you will need three. I butchered mine getting the lower three off the front facia to access the two 10mm bolts that hold the fog lights in. It will help to take out the bolts that hold the lower end extractors to gain access to the fog light bolts. When removing or installing the fog lights the trick is to rotate them towards the cut outs in the fog light hole so that you are pulling them out/putting them in bracket end up through front fog light opening.

Looks MUCH better, now replace those DRL housings! You don't realize how bad they are until you replace them with fresh ones.

thats how I felt about my DRL's on my firebird, didn't take long for the depo's to get almost as bad as the parts they replaced.

I checked on Amazon and saw the negative feedback on the non-OEM DRL's something about the hole not being big enough or deep enough. I have no clue what they mean when they say it requires drilling.

The problem isn't the housing, it's the shitty bolts GM used for them. It's the bolt that holds the housing in place and it is very fragile. I snapped mine in half on the first OEM housing when I was removing it because I loosened it too quickly and forcefully. So, it's not the Depo housings that is the problem, it's the bolt that you have to reuse from your OEM housing that's the issue.

I bought some new stainless bolts from Lowe's to fit. Just be careful when installing the bolts as even new ones are fragile. I broke one in a new turn signal and had a hell of a time getting it out.

I don't think I will be changing my drl's any time soon. They look fine to me at night. I think that photo above it was too much sun light.

They may look fine at night but there really is a huge difference when you buy new ones. Over time they begin to look cloudy, like the picture you posted, and not clear like they should be.

Well I did buy a set when it was originally suggested. I suppose it can't hurt to swap them out.

I'm trying to decide if I like the new reflector pattern versus the originals.

How much did these fog lights cost in 2016? In 2019 the cheapest I can find so far is $71 EACH at Amazon...

I've yet to crawl under there.

I see you have to spin them and bring them out the front of the nose, there's a video on You Tube.

How much access do you have through the access doors under the car, or if you remove the three (3) retainers under the nose?
