Spoiler on the 93-97 Trans Am

Spoiler on the 93-97 Trans Am As I'm on my search looking for a Trans Am on Kijiji, Auto Trader and other sites I have noticed that the spoiler isn't always the same on all of them. There is one that seems to be a one piece like the Formula has. Then there is another that is raised up with a space between the spoiler and the hatch lid. So was that one an option of choice? Otherwise what's the deal with that?
All hardtop and t-top trans ams will have the high rise spoiler. Convertible trans ams have a low profile design similar to that of the firebird and formula. I'm guessing that you're probably getting thrown off by the convertibles.
There are also a couple options that I believe were options only available for firehawks, "ol lumpy" and the IROC spoiler, but those are pretty damn rare and hardly ever seen.

I was thinking of ls1 cars... so I can't really help ya I guess. a couple things worth noting in those videos: 1) 2 of the 3 cars are imports, and I see they have additional lighting in the rear bumper. I have no clue what all differences may have been made for imports at that time, for all I know the import lt1 trans ams may have all had that firebird/formula bumper/spoiler, or it may have been optional. 2) all of these cars are lt1's. I'm not 100% sure if this was how the lt1 trans ams originally came or not, as I really only ever got into 98+ cars. But that may be the case. Or the owner very well could have installed the bumper and spoiler. It's not a hard job and it's been done quite often.. hell I had even installed a firebird hatch/spoiler on mine at one point in time.

The LT1 cars could come with either, depending on options ordered. In 1993, all Trans Am's had the uplevel spoiler. In 1994, base Trans Am's had the low level spoiler and the Trans Am GT had the uplevel one. In 1995 through 1997 the low level spoiler was an option that got rarer and rarer until done away with entirely in 1998 when all Trans Am's once again came with the uplevel spoiler.

Thanks to the both of you for your input. I knew something was up, as was shown, some would have the low level spoiler and others had the uplift one. My personal taste is the upliftl, but the other still looks good.
