Etched My Lid

Etched My Lid
Figured I'd do something to my lid a little different than most. I used the wife's Silhouette and cut out a CE styled phoenix in vinyl and applied it to the lid. Taped the rest of it all off and took it to my blasting cabinet. While I have a regular sand blaster, I also have a smaller etching blaster. Looks like an air brush, but that holds pretty light media. Few minutes later I peeled all the tape off and reinstalled the lid. Total time invested from start to finish is 1hr, total money invested is $0.
It was kind of hard to get good pictures of it since I used light media. It looks like some parts are lighter than others, but in person it's all even. I'm considering cutting out another decal, apply, tape and use a heavier media so it's a little more pronounced....but who knows I like that it's subtle.
Please excuse the dirty engine.
