Brightest Halogen lowbeam? Osram? Phillips?
What I'm after is the brightest and most effective low beam halogen bulb available that will work in a stock 9006 socket. I wanted to check on whats changed since I last bothered to research and like a drone waltzed into an Autozone and bought overpriced Silverstars. I'm not interested in the work involved to mess with HIDs.
Here is the HIR website mentioned-

Much brighter.
You can find them in auto parts stores and amazon.
Might need slight trimming of a lock tab on the bulb for it to fit, but they will fit and still use the optics properly for a proper beam pattern with increased output.
See here on what to trim:

Might require minor trimming to a tab on the bulb. Might not.
Fit my mother's CR-V without any trimming.
I've posted this in another thread a while back. See my posts #40 & #42:

Lumen ratings listed there as well.

Now I just hope the Halos I have don't do anything weird with the light pattern these produce.
Thanks for the help!

Yeah I read the Wagners are the same thing. Unfortunately it looks like they got smart atleast with the low beams and made them the same price. I'll definitely go that route with the highs though.
The stars on the packaging are just marketing fluff that are meaningless without context.
For example, the tinted Silverstar bulbs used to say they were brighter than regular bulbs (when they were actually dimmer, just whiter - looking at the lumen ratings on Sylvania's website at the time showed that). If you read the fine print on the back of the package, it clarified that the claim on the front was in comparison to half used bulbs. Of course a new bulb will be brighter than a half-used bulb.
With regard to Philips star rating, I don't know the context for their comparison. What matters is fitment, quality control, and actual lumen output with regard to using the same optics. 9011 & 9012 bulbs are rated at higher lumens than 9005 & 9006 bulbs and they use the same optics.
