convertible top replacement

convertible top replacement Car: 1996 T/A Convertible When I traded for the car, the guy's girlfriend/wife wanted to show me what it looked like with top down. I politely told her I knew and carried on talking to guy about Bronco I was trading off for Firebird. While we were still talking she decided to let top down. Long story short, she didn't know he had trunk crammed full and now rear window is shattered. Now, my question is, would it be ok to just change out the rear section for a new piece or am I better off replacing both parts (complete top)? I didn't know how the cloth stretches. If it would cause any problems with function. Money wise, I'd rather just replace back piece.

The guy had trunk packed. Had stuff sitting on the shelf area where top folds in to. The plastic piece that separates sections is just laying there. Not really sure how it attaches.
You also have an option of getting the rear window curtain with a plastic rather than glass window. It's less expensive, but doesn't have defroster in it like the glass one does.

I don't see anything that twists. Is it only one piece? Also, I've seen the plastic window ones, but I think I'd rather have the factory style. Not to mention, wife agrees, so that's a thumbs up to spending money.
