c7 auto shift knob work in a trans am?

c7 auto shift **** work in a trans am? been going through ideas on what to do with the stock shifter, looked at getting a gate shifter or just switching to a different ****. do all auto shift ***** work the same? can't find good info on that
found this pic of the c7 auto shift assembly and the shaft the **** goes on looks a lot like the one in trans ams.
anyone tried this or know for a fact it wont work??
it looks like it has a locking slot and that plastic plunger that goes down too

Auto ***** can attache a few different ways, but most work in a similar manner (there are exceptions tough).
I have a TBSS (Trailblazer SS) **** in my car. Only took minor trimming of a tab inside to slide it on and tighten the set screw. I also installed a leather shift boot.
I don't have a pic of the TBSS handle installed, but here is how I installed a leather shift boot with the stock handle:

Its a universal leather shift boot.
