Chrome ZR1s
Chrome ZR1s My rims have seen better days. My car has been sitting under a car port for almost a year now. I will be moving in about 5 months and will finally have a garage for her. My question is maintaining chrome or cleaning it and protecting the finish. Is there anything out there that can be recommended? I have never polished the rims either. I have read this isn't necessary for chrome.

I use the same wax (or sealant) on chrome that I use on my paint, though it doesn't seem to last as long on chrome.
If the finish is already pitted or damaged in some way, you can't restore it with metal polish like you can for minor damage with a polished aluminum wheel.
If the chrome is just very dirty, more than what mild soap will remove, and you want to clean it without using abrasives to scrub, you can use glass/tile cleaners like Dirtex. This will not remove heavy staining or corrosion/pitting though.
