Tire question? If I have a tire 17 x 9, will or can it be made to fit a rim 17 x 9.5? any help within the next few hours would be much appreciated!

I personally wouldn't do it. 245/45 = 8" rim and 9.4" tire width 275/40 = 9.5" rim and 10.8" tire width.
That means you would have a .1" more wheel than tire.
