How To Replace Ss Grill????
hello to everyone. I have asked this question on another forum and didn't really get the answer that I was looking for. Maybe you guys/girls can help? I would like to replace the stock grill on my 99 Camaro SS with the one that comes stock on the 35th anniversary SS. Is there a way to replace this grill WITHOUT just very simply, PULLING IT OFF?!?!!? Plus how hard is it to replace that stock grill with the 35th grill? How does the grill stay into place? Are there clips there or nuts and bolts? Any info in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

Are you talking about this grill? If so the easiest way is to just carefully pull the old one off. Otherwise you'll have to remove the bumper cover and remove the fasteners from the back. To install the one I have pictured you simply line it up and drill like 6 holes. Once the holes are drilled then you attach it using pine tree fasteners.

Grill???
I actually want the one that is all black with the red SS badging since my SS is hugger orange. So, to remove the stock grill, I simply just pull the old one off?? That is the only way to get this off without actually taking off the bumper cover?? I do not understand still how this grill stays on?? You have to drill holes for it to stay on? Where exactly do you drill those holes and what is the grill then being held onto?? Thanks for the info guys!!!!

It's held on with pinetree fasteners. I really don't know how to explain them but they hold the grill on very well, trust me. As for the drilling you just line up the holes that are already in the new grill and mark them then drill away.

For the OEM grill just brace the body colored part of the noce and yank it off.
For the SLP SS grille, it is held on with 8 pine conve fasteners, so you have to drill 8 holes - at least that is the way mine installed.
