Default Roll Cage Protection.

Looking for a way to protect the paint on my roll cage (and my pants) as I climb over the side bar to get in/out of the car. Between the window net bracketry and the door panel, there is no room for anything padded. I really like the formed carbon fiber protectors in the pic, but not gonna spend $120 + shipping for 2 of them. Besides, I don't really need real carbon fiber. Does anyone know of a less-costly solution? As an alternative, I have a buddy who could put on strips of faux carbon fiber wrap but I wonder if it will hold up as this is the 2nd time I've had to repaint it.

Appreciate any feedback.

There’s nothing “faux” about the picture you posted. Those are real c/f protectors that everything from pros to shows use to do exactly what you’re looking for while also looking nice.

Go back and reread my post and you'll see I said "real carbon-fiber" in the pic. My reference to faux carbon-fiber is the alternative that a buddy can install for me.

You can repaint it and then wrap it in clear bra (paint protection film) like this https://m.ebay.com/itm/6-x60-Genuine...YAAOSwYlJW13j3

How about a vinyl wrap? You can even use textured stuff with a weave that kinda looks like carbon fiber from a distance.

just put a clear vinyl wrap on the areas that get the most traffic, cheap an super easy to install.
