New Camaro Project

New Camaro Project
Just wanted to create a little post to keep track and show some of the mods I'll be doing to my newly acquired hardtop Z28. As of right now I'm focusing on the appearance mods and once I'm satisfied I'll decide on what to do with it performance wise. No specific plans for this car other than to make a killer looking hardtop car with at minimum a cam and supporting bolt on package. This car is a 01 and came with the ugly tan interior. I'm pretty sure I have sourced a full ebony interior that I should be picking up in the next week.
The car has been parked at my shop since I brought it home about 3 weeks ago while I started gathering parts for it. I did notice the oil pressure gauge bouncing around and being very inconsistent. I figured the oil pressure sending unit was broke so I pulled off the intake with plans on replacing it along with intake and valve cover gaskets. I could clearly see rtv around the valve cover gaskets and there was oil residue and grime everywhere. When I pulled the intake off I was amazed at all the crap that was under there and on the heads. It took a little time but I got it all cleaned up, ditched all the emissions crap and replaced all the gaskets and sending unit.
So far I have gathered a bunch of tasteful mods but I'm still on the look out for a SS spoiler and SS hood. I contemplated buying a Sunoco hood but I just can't get myself to like it enough to purchase. Plans are to paint the roof white as well. I have bmr springs and koni strt shocks to install this week along with a founders rears suspension package. I finished retrofitting some h1 projectors in the stock housing so those will be complete after I align the projector horizontally. Also picked up a brakemotive rotor and pad package. Tires arrived last week. CCW LM20 centers I already had and lips and barrels to make a set of 17x10 and 17x11 wheels will arrive next week.
I have a few more other ideas I'm bouncing around to make this car looks sharp. I'll post up more pics as parts come in or I make progress.

As far as the camaro is concerned. The stock motor developed a knock shortly after getting the car so i pulled the motor and had it rebuilt. We stuck a btr stage 3 cam in it and picked up a circle d converter also. I bought a oem ss spoiler for it pulled off the door moldings and just finished assembling the ccw lm20s for it.

That might be one of the sickest side shops of a C5 FRC in existence! I just picked up a 155k mile 01 SS and I was living vivasiously through you but with the new motor and CCW's I don't think I can hang. It is fun to be back into a 4th gen 6 spd daily driver!
Keep the updates coming! Can't wait to see how this turns out!

Been tied working on my FRC but I found a little time to remove the exhaust to get it read for the true dual kit I just ordered from speed engineering. Installed the rear koni shocks, lcas, rotors and pads. I was given a free oem ss hood with a little damage that I'll have repaired and painted. I also had the Nitto 555 G2 tires mounted and balanced on the LM20s. This thing should look pretty sick when I'm done with it.
