faded dash fix....
I saw a method using a heat gun to heat it up until more oils cone out of it to restore it. Well, I didn't want to move the car or get an extension cord.
I threw my bottle of louanna coconut oil in the microwave for 30 seconds to liquify it. I read about it online and used it to cook with lol, then I read it can restore seats so I used it on my Lexus ls430 daily with good results.
I'm really bummed I didn't get before pictures. It was super dry and super sun damaged.
Basically I used tuff stuff to clean it well. Then I dipped a paper towel in the coconut oil and rubbed it all over the dash in a heavy layer but not so heavy it runs. Let it sit for a bit then wipe it off with dry paper towels and follow that up with a microfiber.
I did take a picture of the door sill. The section towards the back was the coconut oil method after the tuff stuff, then just tuff stuff, and then uncleaned.
It's becoming my favorite car detailer, plus no chemicals, plus you are literally adding oil into the part instead of drawing it out with heat.
The picture of the dash doesn't do it justice. It was almost white in color in some areas...well very very light grey.
You can sort of see where I didn't get yet. But yea, if you don't know about coconut oil it's fairly cheap and works great!
