Beginner getting into polishing
For a beginner I'm going to suggest some Griots orange cutting pads and IIRC black polishing pads. The Griots yellow bottle polish and compounds are easy to work with and don't seem to dust. You can get the polisher, pads and compounds at Autozone.
For those who stumble on this thread I used the following items in no particular order: Bauer 1814E DA, 5" Lake Country backing plate, Buff and shine 5.5" green foam pads, Carpro ClearCUT, Carpro Essence X-treme Gloss Enhancer, Carpro Eraser Intense Oil and Polish Cleanser, Carpro Trix Tar and Iron Remover, Carpro Reset Intensive Car Shampoo, Carpro CQuartz Lite Kit, 16x16 Chinchilla microfiber towels, Speedmaster Clay Towel, Carpro Immolube, Supreme Micro-Chinille wash mitt.

Yup, to do a good job and to do it right definitely takes a while and is also pretty labor intensive but there's nothing like pulling your finished work into the sun for the first time or showing the finished product to the client.
