Thinking of recovering my dash?
Has anyone done this before and know of a company that sells automotive vinyl that is a decent color match? I found All Vinyl Fabrics via search and they will provide a free sample to use prior to buying. They have 3 GM options (GM Corinthian, GM Longitude (Autobahn), and GM Monticello (Daytona). Having a CETA with ebony interior the closest I found was Corinthian Ebony, $16.95 per 30 yard by 54" rolls. Its listed as -10 cold crack and 300 hours UV resistance but I have no idea what that means. From what I have seen the harderst part will be pulling the old vinyl off and getting the new on and straight. Has anyone done this before and have pointers, better suppliers, recommended contact cement/glue?
Automotive Vinyl / GM Corinthian - Ebony
I have found a local dash from a 1997 that is the same price as a 2000 dash. The 1997 has more cracks and has been exposed to the elements but is local and no shipping. The 2000 has BAD mildew but only 1 small crack starting between back of console bend and the slope for the center cluster. I am not concerned with cracks as this would be for pulling the old material off and replacing with new. I just want to ensure the older 4th gen dashes align and accommodate the later 4th gen connections/accommodations.
