Stripping painted coils
Stripping painted coils Has anyone stripped painted coils before?
I've made the mistake of forgetting to use primer first and after the first coat of caliper paint they look terrible...
I'm hoping to get them stripped before the first coat cures...
Luckily I had only painted half of them...
I went with a quick coating of brake fluid. Seems to be working half decent.
Letting this second application of brake fluid set in for a few minutes then going to hit them with a scotch brite pad...
This was a "real men of genius" moment (not the brake fluid, forgetting the primer). Don't be like me, use primer...
These are fresh from the womb now...

Just tryin to clean things up in the bay.
They are painted with high temp brake caliper paint. Should be fine.
Also, did my valve covers in VHT black crinkle. Not that you can really see them. Still looks better imo.
