Momo steering wheel adapter question - Im doing something wrong... Ive got to be doing something wrong. I read other posts about milling the black part that meets the columns plastic to keep them from rubbing, so I did that, and when the wheel is tightened all the way down it seems fit just right (barely not touching). But what is happening is the part of the adapter that slides down over the splines is crushing the clock spring and locking up the steering wheel when I tighten it down. Theres even an impression of the bevel of the adapter crushing the plastic under it and it even cracked it a little. I dont understand why this is happening. I thought I saw a thread where you could sand down the plastic of the clockspring, or there was a company that milled the adapter for you to fix this problem but I cant find those threads now for the life of me and it looks like that company is out of business. Are you not supposed to bolt it all the way down? I found another thread where it said you have to remove the clockspring altogether which didnt sound right to me. I guess the airbag is out and this is a 1997 so there are no radio buttons or anything so is that what Im doing wrong? Thanks for any advice!
