01 Camaro carpet installation

I am putting new carpet in an 2001 Camaro convertible. It is non molded so where do I cut it under back seats so it will lay flat on hump

Where did you get a non-molded replacement carpet? I got a replacement for my 2002 Trans Am and in the box it does not look molded but once you get it rolled out (in the driveway) you can tell it was molded. The instructions that came with mine suggested using the old carpet as a template. You can lay the old carpet on top of the new one and mark in chalk where the cut-outs are (make sure it is aligned leaving some extra on the sides).

If not molded maybe using a heat gun and something to weigh the carpet down will work in getting it to fit the floor boards contours? This is the only option I can think of as at the factory I think they use a giant steam system and press to sandwich the carpet and mold it.
