Clear nail polish?

Recently I ran over a curb that was higher than should be.. Left me with some stress cracks in my paint.. Is it at all possible to seal it off with some clear nail polish or will it turn another color in the sun?

Stress cracks in which paint? Body or wheels? If it's the body, that must've been one hell of a curb.

Why not just use automotive clear coat instead? What is the reasoning for nail polish?

Yeah it was at the hospital, was a super tight spot to fit in and had ground behind it so it wasn't completely all a curb, still sucks though.. Its on the body lowest point of the nose. I thought maybe it would be easier to apply the nail polish, but I may try clear coat

why not turn it in to the insurance company for a real repair ??
