Best car cover for backyard storage
I don't live in an area with the sort of UV exposure that you have though, so for your application I would recommend the Weather Shield HD version which, according to CoverCraft, is specifically designed for higher UV regions (I believe it is thicker) but is otherwise comparable to the HP version that I have.

Just 1 year? Wax it up real good and wash off any bird doo doo that happens. Cover the interior with bed sheets to protect from the sun. Try to use any afternoon shade as much as possible. You have more risk of damage from rodents than you do the weather.
The key is to always make sure the car is clean before you cover it (I use a car duster, leaf blower, or proper detailing if it's too dirty for the aforementioned), then make sure the cover is tight/secure to minimize ambient dirt intrusion (if it's a very dusty climate this might be difficult, but it's been quite workable in my region) and prevent excessive flapping of the cover against the paint during times of wind.
