Aligning SS Hood Help!
I had to take my hood off in order to do some motor work ( ) and I can't get it to line up correct....are there any body shop secrets or anything I could use to get the hood to be flush and line up on all sides?

The best advice is to take your time!
Maybe put some tape on the fenders to avoid scratching them.
If you took it off the car and didn't change anything with the hinges or anything else than it should bolt right back on. Like I said be patient and it should line up.

Yea I just took it straight off, but it's got bigger holes than the bolts so that it can be moved around, so you can't just bolt it up like it used to be....

I have kind of the same problem with my firehawk hood. I can't get one light to flip up sometimes in the middle of the day. My hood is slightly crooked and isn't aligned correctly...I too would like to know how to align the hood.

The body man's "secret" is simple when it comes to the SS hoods or any other 4th gen. You make sure the shocks are disconnected from the bottom of the hood while adjusting....there is a small c-clip on each you can pull out with a flat-head scewdriver. Loosen the bolts at the hinges to the bottom of hood and adjust with the hood closed all the way. Then have someone pop the hood and raise slowly just enough to tighten the bolts or at least one on each side. Clip the shocks back on and your good to go!
