Default Firebird Dash Difference?

What difference, if any, is there between a 1999 dash pad vs a 2002 dash pad? My 02 is cracked pretty bad. There are plenty of options up to '99. They all look the same to me. I had a '94 and I think it looks the same as my '02. Is it a mounting clip issue?

98+99 dash pads are grey vs ebony for the 2000-2002.

exactly this ^^^

I’ve been looking myself for quite a while and keep procrastinating / not wanting to pay the crazy $ for a new one from GM (which seem to be discontinued again), and only finding cracked up ones at salvage yards. I see some advertised on eBay/Amazon as ABS plastic replacements (not covers) but may need some bending of the guide pins and the color is supposedly not an exact match. I also just stumbled on a reproduction made of fiberglass by “fbody custom designs” out of Mexico made by Arturo Garibay. Some people on Facebook say he was the person who made some parts for 6LE/MAGG/IROC Motorsports, so I’m super nervous about ordering from him based on all the stories over the years here however people on the Facebook group fbody empire seem to be getting their orders from him. I just emailed him to get some photos of the underside of the panel and if he has any installed photos so we’ll see if I get a response.

wannafbody is correct; only difference is color ('97-'99 is 14I Dark Gray, '00-'02 is 19I Ebony).

Not currently discontinued, at least not the Dark Gray one. Part number is 10422746, $749.01 list price. I don't have the part number handy for the Ebony one.

So I chased the rabit down the hole and dug up some info on these OEM panels. I found an older ebay post for the gray/graphite 97-99 panel (10422746) with the original box and manufacturer's shipping label https://www.ebay.com/itm/204468770492. Blowing up the label on the box, it appears the original supplier to GM is/was IAC North America (shipped) out of Iowa as of 2019 (https://iacgroup.com / IAC - International Automotive Components | Southfield MI | Facebook). Stands for International Automotive Components. Looks like the Iowa facility has another company in it and google points me to Texas now, but have plants all over including Michigan. They clearly have the original mold since the stamping on this panel still shows the original part number 10269102. I know it is extremely unlikely that any one of us would be able to order direct from a tier 1 supplier like this or even find out production status, but figured I'd post the info for archival sake.
