painting question

painting question I've been thinking about taking off my side skirts (i guess you can call them ground effects) the peices that run under the car below the doors and down the side...mine are all chipped up and look like ****.
I have some talents with painting guitars and i have an air compressor and air brush to paint those and i was wondering if i could paint these peices of my car with it?
here is a pic of two guitars i've done (just floor it is going to post them for me cause i dunno how),
A. should i even attempt this
b. will it work with the equipment i have my air brush painter is about the size of my hand a little larger
and c. how the hell do you get these peices off?
