Paint ? for Chip Foose or anyone else... Ok Ive been watching all the shows on TV like Overhaulin and am inspired to paint my VFN hood like no other. Take a look at the firebird on the front license plate cover of your car. Its raised out..kinda diamond and triangle shapes. I want to put a Ghost Bird just like that on my hood that has some height to it. Looking at it you see nothing but looking real close you see a Firebird raised up coming out at you just like on the plate cover. All black would be best. How can that be done? Its got to be ghost and not gaudy...like the hood already is lol.
My buds tell me that paint layers wont do it. Spray the hood black then tape off and spray an off black in the bird shape is the only way. But I want a "3D" effect...just some height to it...under the clear. Any suggestions?
