Wrecked 2002 Z06, help please?
salvage title is fine,its just a damn piece of paper-IF YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP THE CAR AT LEAST 5 YEARS-iI've rebuilt many f bodies that had theft,vandalism or minor damage I was able to do this b/c I had bits of 25 cars here Ive parted out.. That cars fixable but youre just the man NOT to do it, why? well this is why, that car is worth 10-12k to a corvette only wrecking yard that has bits and pieces of 7000 corvettes so they can put it together without buying **** from GM, parts and labor in a shop to fix that car is way north of 10k b/c at 10k the ins would have fixed it being it doesnt exceed 70 percent of actual cash value..
fwiw the savings if u pay to fix it as a through the front door customer is going to be non existent being that 2002 z06's on a clean title at the dealer auction are only 33-34k ready to ride...
go look at a ready 97-9 vette for in the 20's ride now....

i used to work for a company that did automotive electrical repairs. heed my warning. a car with as many electrical components as a newer Corvette is a definite bad buy when it is a flood car. water is very bad for pc boards , switches ,computers ,etc. even if it does not present itself as a problem immediately , the corrosion build -up will even eventually kill any given electrical accessory.open up a computer that has been dunked. you'll see crusty white powdery looking crap or green slime from mildew. if you just wanted a hull for an all-out race car , heck yeah , buy it! but a daily driven car? no. anyone ever spill coke or water in a radio? it either smokes upon powering up or plays for a bit then dies. plus if you buy the car, fix it, you're pretty much stuck with it unless you give it away for next to nothing . FLOOD CARS ARE NOT A GOOD DEAL , PERIOD. that's just the electrical , an internal combustion engine doesn't care too much for being immersed , either. nor an auto tranny , nor a rear differential . RUST.parts seizing. the flood 'vette is a good cosmetic parts donor that's about it.the recovered theft might be a good buy tho'.my.02
Man I know your 17 and trying to get a good deal on a vette. But I think with either car your going to get burnt on both of them. Flood cars are a nightmare. Also most of the time wrecked cars will never be right again. I think with the money time and effort you would have to put in those cars you could buy a nice C5 that somebody has taken care of for the same money. Yeah it might not be a Z06. But either way i don't think you would have a problem picking up 17 year old women at high school.

bought mine wrecked but has a clean title. I paid my dad(owns a body shop) to do the work and i help prep everything for paint and stuff. Turned out good i think Don't be scared of a wrecked. The front panels are the same as a regular C5 and so is the rear bumper. The rear fenders and trunk are the same as verts i believe. at least the trunk peice is. Fender's i'm not sure on. On Corvette Forums you maybe can find parts IN color and then just have a paint shop respray them to match if they don't already match. It's cheaper to paint them if the parts are ON the car. Do little things like put the taillights in yourself and stuff. The rest see if you have any friends that can help with the fenders and stuff. They just bolt on on the Vette's. Then just have a shop pull the frame square and paint. They rest you should be able to figure out. i could get that car for $16k and spend total after repairs, no more then $22k after paint and frame pull. you can SHOP AROUND for parts. Check car-parts.com and search for the parts you'd need. They have **** from all over the country. ~Cole~
