Swearl Mark Remover

Every time I wash my car it seems like a million swearl marks appear. Now I do take every precaution when washing to not scratch the paint at all. There not deep at all and barely noticeable. Im thinking its from the guy that had the car before me. Now that its mine I notice every little thing.

Does anyone know of a good way to remove the light scratches and make the finish look mirror-like?

First of all, they are called swirl marks.

You need a good polish. If you are working by hand, you can find Meguiar's ScratchX locally, or you can order a number of nice polishes off the internet.

haha, swirl marks, ah, it still feels like Monday. I think my brain is actually fried by now. hey, thanks for the site. it looks like its gonna be a help!

my suggestion to you, is to go to www.autopia.org ...You will find out ANYTHING you need to know about what kinds of polishes, Swirl mark removers, etc to use, and how to apply them.. I have learned A LOT about detailing from this site.. And if you register, you can download this kick *** reference manual that tells you how to do ANYTHING with detailing!!

My best experience with removing swirls is to get a quality swirl remover be it from 3M, Meguires, Mothers...whatever, and use a HIGH-QUALITY orbital buffer with a microfiber bonnet. When using an orbital buffer DO NOT apply any pressure to the buffer; let the buffer's weight be the only downward pressure. If you spend about 10 minutes on each panel with a quality polish you'll remove all the swirls. You also have to use the buffer in varing directions: side to side, up-down, diagonally...etc.
