Default Glass Chalk?

What is it that people use to write on thir windows without harming the glass, and something that will wash off? I see people writing for sale stuff, phone numbers and that, on their glass. What is it they use and where do you get it?

White shoe polish is commonly used...especially for bracket racers in the drag racing community. Be warned though that no matter what you use to write on your windows, the longer it sets out in the sun the more likely it is to remain on the windshield. I've ridden in vehicles that in the right lighting you can still see the writing from a car lot, etc. It sort of burns it into the glass.

I've seen glass chalk at nearly every walmart i've been to, near the carparts department. They have different colors and it costs around $2 i think.

Glass chalk comes off very easy though. Once it rains it willl be gone. Or if the car has dew on it in the mornign and you take off it will be all streaked after it dries again.
